Parking
Issues
For years and years
residents have been put at risk of unessercary danger.
If a resident urgently needed the
services of an Ambulance of the Fire Brigade would they be able to attend.
We have put this
issue to Heathfield Safer Neighborhood Team - there response "it's
a parking enforcement issue"
How many times have
we returned home after a hard day at work, only to find we cant reach our own driveway, without
risking damading our vehicle, just because a non-resident has parked either illegally or
inconsideratley, meaning you are unable to pass freely past their vehicle.
once again,
Heathfield SNT tell us this is not a police matter.
Maybe they should take a look at the
Highways Act 1980.
what about the
resident that has been challening these drivers as they parl, or return to their
vehicles.
the same resident that, for their attempots at doing the police and parking
enforcement job for them, has over the last 3 years,
been driven at and hit by a vehicle
purposely while taking a picture of the vehicle, plase advised not to take any further to preserve
community realtions,
the same resident who 2 hours after educating a driver about legal
places to park, was chased by two vehicles with 2 men in each, boxing them in and attempting to
smash the residents windscreen, again reported to police, they were too slow to attend to the
single resident on their own had to get out of their vehicle and confront the attacker head
on.
the same resident that a day after confronting a driver about their illegal parking, was
walking along Wyndham Crescent innocently on their way home, when the vehicle pulled up next tp
them 3 men got out, knock him unconciouss on to the ground and started stamping on his head. from
this attack suffered 2 black eyes, a cut head and a fractured cheek bone.
thaanks to the
actions of another resident souting at the men and calling the police, the attackers fled before
they could do any more damadge.
Police recorded it as actual bodily harm, never followed up
by police.
this resident still challenges drivers every night and still receives
intimitadting and disrespectful attititudes and continues to riskl another
attack.
Heathfield SNT beleive this also is not the reponsibility of the police to protect
law abiding citizens from law breaking citizens by simply depolying a couple of foot patrols during
the relevant days and times.
